Rancho Canada Village Monterey, CA
Rancho Canada Village is being planned as a Mixed Income, compact and walkable new neighborhood in Carmel Valley, California. Situated on an existing golf course, the proposal is to provide a significant portion of affordable housing (50% below market rate) in an area where home prices have skyrocketed and local workers such as school teachers, public safety, and healthcare providers are forced to commute long distances.
A public Design Charrette was utilized to obtain local input and feedback. A large portion of the site will reestablish new habitat along the Carmel Valley River and utilize less water than the existing golf course. Within walking distance to local retail uses, schools, churches and public services, Rancho Canada Village is an infill location meeting the challenges of growth in a responsible and well though out manner.
