History

Urban Community Partners was founded be two senior executives of a premier international homebuilding and development company. The principals of Urban Community Partners recognize that the changing global climate, environmental, and economic challenges have redefined the way we should be developing human settlements and preserving the natural world. Urban Community Partners seeks to meet these challenges by incorporating the principles of “Smart Growth” _environmental sensitivity, economic sustainability and social equity – and Walkable Urbanism into every project.

Philosophy

Urban Community Partners believes that issues such as the provision of affordable and workforce housing, developing and re-developing adjacent to existing infrastructure and public transit, revitalizing existing downtowns and neighborhoods, creating walkable and mixed use places, optimizing energy efficiencies and using locally established and time tested traditional building practices to reduce environmental impacts are fundamental to creating harmonious and enduring communities for people to enjoy and thrive.

Who We Are

Urban Community Partners was founded by Ian C. Gillis and Keith L. McCoy, both seasoned real estate professionals with over 50 years combined experience in planning and developing master planned communities, urban infill, environmentally contaminated sites, military base reuse, mixed use, commercial, industrial and residential projects. Having worked as consultants, developers, asset managers and home builders, Mr. Gillis and Mr. McCoy bring an extensive range of experience to Urban Community Partners and a sincere dedication and enthusiasm to creating beautiful places of enduring value.
